DKV News — The Visual Communication Design (DKV) Study Program, Faculty of Infrastructure and Regional Technology (FTIK), Institut Teknologi Sumatera (ITERA) welcomed participants of The 3rd Coastal and Tropical Infrastructure Development International Course (COSTROP-ID) 2026 during Day 9 of the program on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Labtek 4, ITERA. The visit was part of the COSTROP-ID 2026 series, which introduces various academic disciplines at ITERA to international participants through immersive learning experiences.
During the visit, participants toured the DKV ITERA Exhibition Room, featuring a collection of students’ course projects and final works. The exhibition provided insights into the students’ creative processes, design approaches, and diverse visual outcomes developed throughout their academic journey.
The program continued with a visit to the DKV research facilities, where participants were introduced to research projects conducted by DKV lecturers, including Susi Susyanti, S.Ds., M.Ds., Putri Kholida, S.Ds., M.Ds., and Muhammad Hajid An Nur, S.Ds., M.Ds. This session provided participants with insights into ongoing research activities that contribute to the advancement of knowledge and innovation in the field of Visual Communication Design.
Participants then joined a Linocut Printmaking Workshop led by Namuri Migotuwio, S.Sn., M.Sn., with assistance from Refita Ika Indrayati, S.Ds., M.Ds., and Agustinus Didik Prasetya, S.Ds., M.Ds. During the workshop, participants were introduced to traditional relief printmaking techniques and had the opportunity to create their own prints using linoleum blocks, paper, and offset ink. The hands-on session was further supported by DKV ITERA students Erindya Swimlaura and Chairina April Shabahi, who guided participants throughout the creative process.
Through this series of activities, international participants not only experienced the practice of printmaking but also gained a deeper understanding of DKV ITERA’s learning environment, research activities, and student works. The visit is expected to strengthen knowledge exchange, expand international academic networks, and showcase the creative potential of the DKV Study Program at ITERA to participants from around the world.
